Two Truths and a Lie #3
Each week, I'll publish two truths and a lie from my life as a personal writing prompt. Join the fun by guessing the lie in the comments, and I'll share the backstory behind the answers!
Another big thank you to everyone who left comments and played along with last week’s prompts. This project truly has been the gift that keeps on giving. More than just silly memories, it’s inspired me to write out stories I haven’t thought about in a long time.
Now for the big reveal…
I did, in fact, go on an adventure with the babysitter and take Michelle Pfeiffer’s kids trick-or-treating on the Sony lot with Elisabeth Shue and her son. It was Halloween, and I was working on the movie What Lies Beneath. Michelle had brought her kids to set, and Sony had organized candy stations around the various soundstages. Michelle asked me and one of our A.D.s if we could take her kids while she was filming. As it turns out, our A.D. knew Elisabeth, who was shooting Hollow Man with Kevin Bacon on the stage next to us, and Elisabeth asked if she could tag along with her son. So, the six of us went from stage to stage, trick-or-treating and collecting candy.
The lie? That I went to Harrison Ford’s ranch with him and his assistant. We talked about going, but I got an unexpected call to work on a movie in Orlando, and it never happened.
This Friday, I’ll be sharing the wild, almost unbelievable story of how a casual night turned into me singing karaoke with Tiffany and Vince Vaughn—and, yes, somehow Lance Bass and Debbie Gibson ended up in the mix. You won’t want to miss this one!
But in the meantime, here are this week’s “Two Truths and a Lie.” Leave your guesses in the comments, and as always, no spoilers if you already know the truth!
Inspired by Jon Bon Jovi’s Superman tattoo, I almost got the face of Disney’s Aladdin inked on my shoulder. But at the very last minute, I went with the sun instead.
To commemorate 30 years of friendship, Shaunessy and I got matching ice cream cone tattoos on the insides of our elbows. It symbolizes how we met and fell in love at Baskin Robbins in high school.
I have a ladybug tattoo on my foot in honor of my Aunt Bernice. Fun fact: I was coerced into it by Grant Show from Melrose Place during a scavenger hunt.
Let’s get a tattoo story 🥹 ✍️
